Field Trips

To start planning your visit, please send an email to ckwr.ed.director@gmail.com with "Field Trip Inquiry" in the subject line.

We are currently able to offer field trips to small groups (max ~20 participants) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings between 10-11 am during the school year. If you are interested in scheduling a field trip at another time, please ask, and we will try to accommodate your request.

Our Education Director is happy to tailor your field trip experience to your students' current learning objectives across a variety of subjects. Recent field trips have involved collecting data about bird species, identifying wildflowers, and participating in a fall scavenger hunt.

Travel Grants for School Groups

The Refuge can provide a travel grant of up to $150 to help your school group when it comes out for an educational event. Please ask for a CKWR Travel Grant Application.

We welcome scouting groups, adult nature clubs, etc. to schedule field trips with us!
